The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: A Premier F1® Event​

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix debuted on November 1, 2009, becoming a highlight of the Formula 1® calendar. It’s held at Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island, designed by renowned F1® architect Hermann Tilke.
This was the first Formula 1® race to transition from day to night in a single event. The result is a uniquely dramatic and visually stunning racing experience under the lights. Part of the track passes beneath the W Abu Dhabi Hotel, offering guests spectacular trackside views.

In 2021, the circuit was updated to improve overtaking and overall race excitement. These changes made Yas Marina even more dynamic and challenging for F1® drivers. Since 2014, it has been the traditional final race of the F1® season. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix often decides the championship, increasing its significance and excitement.
